UIC is an association (also called UN railways) whose role is to promote railway in the world, providing tools for members (such as the provision of hourly data and price , databases ...) and implementation of international technical standards (of all kinds: rolling stock, infrastructure, operations, information systems ...).

InterRegioNovation
InterRegioNovation is the International association devoted to the transfer and exchange of knowledge and innovations, in particular in territorial development, at all regional levels (country, region, city, community) between knowledge transfer professionals (business, research institutions, policy makers, government agencies, individuals) in all countries of the enlarged Europe including CIS countries.
Any interested individual, business, research institute, association, government or community specialising in knowledge transfer and exchange in territorial development can be its member. There are two types of a membership: individual and corporate (applies to businesses, associations, universities, other organisations etc.).
For the time being InterRegioNovation would like to propose the following tools:
· journal “Regional Innovations” which publishes articles of experts from different countries;
· online networking platform - the place where experts can use ‘open innovation’ and online tools to exchange and explore some of the challenging projects and issues they face together (I am looking for the relevant online platform);
· knowledge transfer and exchange network – an internal network accessible to the Association’s members with the information about organizations in the world specializing in knowledge transfer, innovations and research;
· regular events dedicated to knowledge transfer: conferences, round table, working meetings etc.
InterRegioNovation is aimed at providing the following benefits:
· Facilitating knowledge transfer and exchange in territorial development by providing experts with the opportunity to meet and network in the enlarged Europe and CIS countries;
· Improving exchange of knowledge and experience between the Government, business, research institutions, individuals and other professionals across all sectors;
· Bringing people together to stimulate knowledge transfer and exchange – from businesses of any size, research organisations, universities and individuals to the Government and communities.

The Baltic Inter Regional Development hub (BIRDhub) was established on October 4, 2010 as an independent non-profit non-governmental organization whose main objectives are:

The National Development and Reform Commission of the People Republic of China, (NDRC) is an interministerial body on charge of formulating and implementing strategies for socio economic development of the territories of China.

DATAR (Délégation interministérielle à l'Aménagement du Territoire et à l'Attractivité Régionale) is a bady acting under the authority of the Prime Minister.
DATAR is Inermnisterial, which means that it works for and with all the ministries; its member come from all the ministries (and also from the private sector) and works in good relations with all the ministries but for the Prime minister.
DATAR is a task-driven administration, which means that its role is to have the best knowledge of the territories, to think about the territories and to provide ideas about the territories. IN other words, DATAR is tasked to think but not to act, which is the task of "managing administration" like the ministries.
DATAR includes different teams:
- Horizontal teams, which have a wide view of all the issues about territories: the observatory of the territories, the prospective team, the international team, the documentation team;
- Vertical teams, which are specialised on one issue: transport and environment, Europe and regions, rural areas, big cities, economic transformations, technologies of information and communications.

FRANCeXP is a network of international experts for cooperation policies, including in the field of Spatial Management. Among others the netwok allows to find experts of very different profile and organises exchange of experiences about international policies for development.

Germany
The BBSR, (Federal Institute for Research on Buildings, Urban Affairs, and Spatial Development) within the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR) is a deparmental research institution under the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development of Germany. It advices the German Federal Government with sectoral scientific consultation in the political fields of spatial planning, urban development, housing and building.
The main themes of activities of the institution are about:
- Spatial development;
- Urban devellopment;
- Housing;
- Building and architecture.
BBSR works also in the field of INTERREG and ESPON.

The Presidential Committee for Regional Development (PCRD) is consulted by the President on any major issue on regional development.
The internal organisation includes:
- Policy management bureau;
- Regional Collaboration bureau;
- Growth & Vitality bureau;
- Policy Research tem.
All under the authority of Soh Kihong oh Gyun, head of the PCRD executive office.

Moldova
Moldova is a key country in the field of the European Neighbourhood Policy of the European Union.
The regional development policy is elaborated and implemented by the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction (MDRC) headed by Mr Marcel Raducan, minister, where the department of regional devlopment is responsible for spatial planning policy. The deputy director of this department, Mr Igor Malai, is the project leader of a European Twinning with France (Ministry of interior, CIVIPOL and DATAR) where the member state project leader is Mr Patrick Noddings and the resident twinning advisor, Mrs Anne Azam-Pradeilles.

The Ministry of Regional Development of Poland is chaired by Mrs Elzbieta Bienkowska, minister, and is tasked for :
- development policy;
- regional policy;
- DSpatial policy;
- Cohesion policy.
Among others, the MRD is in charge of the management of the European Structural Policy in Poland, which includes 69 Mds € from European Structural funds for the 2007-2013 period.

RSA (Regional Studies Association), is the international association, located in the UK, which aims to promote education in the field of regional studies by the exchange of ideas and information and to stimulate and aid studies and research into regional planning, development and functions and to disseminate the results of such research. It has its own network of experts from many countries (EU, CIS, USA, Latin America, Asia). The Association has its journals and it organizes different events (conferences, workshops, forums) on a regular basis. It has also a budget for creating and supporting research networks, some awards, bursaries and grants for its members http://www.regionalstudies.org

- targeted cross-border and inter-regional cooperation and the increase of its added value at EU level;
- development of competencies and networking by bringing together and supporting people with expertise in regional development and international co-operation and ideas for sustainable development;
- promotion of various EU, Baltic Sea region, national, regional and local initiatives that have a positive impact on regional development;
- involving small communities (county and regional youth and elderly, ethnic minorities, starting entrepreneurs, various interest groups and others) in international cooperation;
- active participation of the local population;
- compliance with the principles of good governance;
- improvement of the skills and competences of the youth of the Baltic countries;
- the promotion of applied research of regional development in the Baltic countries.
